Political views made U.S. News and World Report’s list of the “40 Topics You Can’t Discuss at Work.” In fact, it was number one on the list, followed quickly by religion! Yet more recent articles such as in USA Today have pointed out the more polarizing the statement, the more supported the business by parties who share those same beliefs.
Politics is one of the most powerful forces in our society. While the topic may spark heated discussions around the water cooler, I believe owning and living your personal views can actually play a substantial role in making your business more profitable.
My name is Brandon Vallorani, and I’m a serial entrepreneur, accomplished CEO, and author of Amazon bestseller The Wolves and the Mandolin (ForbesBooks; 2017). I’ve developed numerous successful businesses, and along the way, I’ve discovered that putting your values at the center of your company’s branding can make a huge difference.
Incorporating your beliefs into what you do for a living helps clients and customers feel more connected to your brand, building trust and loyalty among consumers with which your message resonates. And yes, sometimes you will push away those who disagree with you. Personally, I would rather be authentic and live with conviction, compassionately.
Take my quiz to see if mixing your political views with your business could significantly impact your profits in a positive way.
